Madness

So march madness is upon us, and what a mad time it will be. not just because of the basketball tourney, but because this means I'm edging closer to that fateful day....Graduation. however, i am no longer worried. reason being is that i am ready to leave college. thats right, i said it, i am ready.

although i have no job as of yet, i have a strong resume, and faith that something will come along. whats the point of sitting around being paranoid about the world.. don't get me wrong, real world life scares the shit out of me, but i'
m ready to meet that bitch head on. my feeling is that too many people go into the whole real world thing with the wrong attitude. i realize it will be hard and may take a little while but in the end...I WILL GET MY BREAK... i just have to work for it.

next i'd like to talk about something that happened a few weeks ago, i forgot to mention it. so me and my buddy jake go to Edwards Cinema in Houston cuz we got free pass for 2 to see a special viewing of the watchmen. i figured this was a special deal for employees and ppl who won the tix on the radio. NOPE!!! jake says they give so many of these damn things just to make sure they fill the place. so jake and i walk up to the theatre and right as we get to where we get our wristband, they run out.. 2 secs later they tell us sorry guys, no more room.... wtf?! we were the FIRST 2 PPL THEY SAID NO TOO! how unlucky is that. 30 secs too late. i was so pissed, but what mostly pissed me off was the cocksucker who ran the theatre. dude was a douche, he wouldn't give us the whole story and eventually would come out and say...to me...no room, and he would not even come out to talk to the masses who were also too late so i shout theres no room since this guy was a big vagina. really bummed me out cuz i drove to houston from huntsvegas and didnt see a movie i had been wanting to see. o well, i saw it last week and Chuck gives it two thumbs and two big toes way up. GO SEE IT!!!

Thats all i got tonight...tune in next time

Houston Texans

So for my first blog, i wanted to talk about my favorite football team, the Houston Texans. Free agency has begun and the Texans have been active for once. Yesterday they signed Antonio Smith, a 27 yr old DE who was dominant for the Arizona Cardinals during there playoff run. Today, they signed QB Dan Orlovsky to backup Matt Schaub. not a huge splash, but we needed someone and he's not bad.

Next order of buisness(if i was GM), bring in SS Sean Jones to compete with 2nd yr man Dominique Barber, then sign Derrick Ward to compliment Slaton. if we can't sign him, then we take a chance on Cedric Benson. Now i know this guy has been a bust and blown his chances before and has a drinking problem. here me out, he was solid for Cincinatti during their win streak, averaging 118.2 yds per/gm. he also stayed out of trouble and won't cost as much as Ward will. if we have to settle on Benson, i will be willing to use a 4th round pick on a project back who can do the one cut technique and is a power runner. Also, and this is key, resign Dunta and extend DeMeco.

this brings me to my next order of buisness, the draft. here's what i predict we will do if we bring in these FA's and resign Dunta and pay DeMeco what he's worth. Bare with me...

ok here goes...

Round 1- Trade down to the mid 20's, and select Boston College DT Ron Brace. Since we signed Antonio Smith, our need at DE isn't as drastic, so i think we address the fact that we don't have a runstuffer in the middle. Okoye can be a beast, but as more of a pass rushing DT and he needs someone to occupy the middle. Brace is massive and athletic, plus he's been overshadowed by teammate BJ Raji, so he is a bargain in my opinion.

Round 2- if he's still there, i think we take a chance on OLB Clay Matthews and no not because his uncle is now a Texans coach (Bruce Matthews). Although his production is was limited, he was just overshadowed by bigger names like Maualuga and Cushing. He is a great athlete and has impressed coach's, scouts, and gm's since the senior bowl. at worst, he becomes solid depth behind Diles and Adibi. if he is not there, maybe take safeties Patrick Chung or Reshad Johnson.

Round 3- Ok, with a 27 yr old veteren DE now on the team, i think we use our 3rd rd pick on Lawerence Sidbury, the DE from Richmond. He is a pure speed rusher who needs some polishing. his workouts are strong and i watched his performance in the 1AA national championship game and holy shit. he's the future folks. A guard works here too.

Round 4- Andre Brown, RB from NC State. nice straight line runner who adds depth.

Round 5- Draft a QB.

Round 6 and 7- A safety works, best prospect scenario.

If only it was this easy.

Texans 11-5 in 2009-10.....i hope
